The House of Wolves
In between reading all the intense novels by James Patterson, the group elected to read something light. So I suggested one of Janet Evanovich’s books. Since several in the group had never read any of her books, we started with the first one of her series, One for the Money, then also watched the movie that was currently running.
The whole series is based on the character of Stephanie Plum, a jersey girl who becomes jobless so joins up with her cousin to be a bounty hunter. She counts on a well built and efficient hunter, named Ranger, for help in learning the ropes. Her first assignment is to capture an old flame named Joe Morelli. He is a cop, who supposedly killed a subject and is wanted by the law. Stephanie’s job is to capture him and bring him into court. But Morelli claims he is innocent, and Stephanie finds herself fighting her attractions to both him and Ranger while she is learning to use the tools of the trade.
