Week 2 -Carbohydrates

This week classes will study about Carbohydrates on the Food Pyramid, and as a class describe foods in that category that are favorites or unique to their geographic location.

You can visit these sites to find out information to review about the Food Pyramid, and basic nutrition. Be sure to take notes as your research. You will be asked to create and solve Nutrition Mysteries later in the project. The more details you have, the harder you can make your mystery. Have fun exploring!

To find out the nutrients in fast foods, use the Fast Food Finder.

The base of the food pyramid is the Carbohydrate group. This group has the highest recommended amount of servings. You can find out why they are so important by visiting the links below:

Be sure you take good notes, so you can use them for your Nutrition Mystery later in the project.

Now that you have researched about Carbohdrates, it's time to share what kinds of foods from your area are carbohydrates. Be sure to describe the foods, tell us how you cook or eat them, and include a picture if you have one. You can post your message on our Discussion Board.

To add a picture to your description, follow the directions on the Uploading pictures to the Discussion Board Help Page.

We are looking forward to seeing your entries!
