Telling
Us About You - Using the Message Board
Ok,
it's getting close to take off time for the first expedition, and
you need to let the pilot of the CJX
know where
to pick you up. Since she is coming from her last stop at the Writing
PODs in cyberspace, she needs to know where on earth you are. So
you will have to give her your global address. That means she will
need your latitude and longtitude. You received a brief description
of these terms in the book, but if you need more practice or want
to do fun activities, click on Kids@Work
-Global Address.
To
send your message to Karissa telling her your global address, click
on Message
Board - Global Address. She will send you a response on the
Karisa's
Response page, so keep checking back.
You
will also need to know what time she is picking you up. She will
tell you in "GMT" time, and you will have to figure out
your "GMT Offset Time" or what time that is equal to on
your local clock. These websites can help you figure out that time:
Times
Around the World from
Kidlink
World Time Zones
Be
sure to record both your global address and your GMT Offset Time
on the worksheet in your notebook.
OK.....
when you reach your GMT time, choose a research station to visit
and click on its link below. Happy Researching!!!
